Dr Wayne Reeve lectures in cell biology and microbiology and holds a PhD in molecular microbiology. He has accumulated almost 20 years of microbiology research experience. He leads a microbiology research team and is also a partner (along with Colin Reeve) in the business Proculture. Colin Reeve is a senior project engineer with 17 years experience in the offshore oil and gas industry. His background is in electronics, and specializes in electronic control, robotics and hydraulics. He has been brewing beer for 19 years. The Australian business Proculture was formed to provide the highest quality in cultures for brewers demanding freshness and particular strain characteristics. Both partners have a passion for brewing, and its not going away. The production of the yeast occurs in a dedicated yeast culture laboratory. Beer making yeasts are cultured on sterilized media that does not contradict the Reinheitsgebot German beer purity law. Wine yeasts and malolactic bacteria are cultivated on a sterilised natural organic grape medium. The cultured yeast are then subjected to a quality control process to ensure purity. All strains are recovered from cryogenic storage prior to inoculation to minimise genetic drift. In this way, it our intention to provide you with the utmost quality in cultivated yeast that should enable dedicated brewers to consistently reproduce their favourite beers or wines. |
